The project from Holland Rail Country Rail Network (JHR CRN) was to undertake survey, preliminary design, and environmental assessment of a 6 km section of the disused West Tamworth to Barraba Railway.
The deliverables allowed the client to assess the viability of reopening the line to allow industrial and processed agricultural freight to the transported via the rail network.
Project management was a key skillset for this project. The tight deadline meant almost daily discussions with the client, key stakeholders, internal technical staff and sub-consultants.
Final deliverables included reports on dilapidation, preliminary design, signalling, structures and a review of environmental factors.
