Railway Survey & Design - Orange-Broken Hill and Main West (NSW)

Post date: 20 January 2018

John Holland Rail Country Rail Network (JHR CRN) has contracted Mitchel Hanlon Consulting for the survey and track design of 26 km of track on the Main West line and the Orange to Broken Hill line near Orange.

Both lines are located within the NSW Country Rail Network managed by John Holland Rail.

Survey work commenced in December 2017 with rolling deadlines throughout the first half of 2018.

The Main West and Broken Hill lines service the western parts of NSW and beyond to South Australia and Western Australia. Steel and rail manufactured by the Whyalla Steel Works is shipped to the eastern seaboard using the Broken Hill line. Much of the rail is destined for use on the Inland Rail project.

We thank JHR for their continued confidence. We have been a continued supplier of survey, design and environmental services since JHR's commenced management of the Country Rail Network on behalf of Transport for NSW.
